Qrome

“Qrome” and “E3” have been Approved

It has been very busy and very exciting times at Pioneer since the calendar turned to 2019. In January we received word of approvals from China of new biotech traits that we had been awaiting for a long time. Of the handful of traits that gained approval 2 of them will be sig-nificant pieces for Pioneer going forward. These 2 approvals are Qrome and Enlist E3™ soybeans.

We will be moving fast to Qrome® products locally. Look for a full lineup of Qrome varieties in plots in 2019 and in fields in 2020. Qrome products have been offered in the Western U.S. Corn Belt since 2017. Farmers across the U.S. can now experience the strong agronomics and proven insect protection of Qrome products. Pioneer® brand Qrome® products are the most optimized balance of insect pro-tection and agronomic performance in the Pioneer product portfolio. These products are equipped with a proprietary molecular stack of the Bt proteins from the Herculex® RW and Herculex® I traits, plus addition-al modes of action for above and below ground insect protection. The breeding efficiency with Qrome® products enables use of the technolo-gy across a broader range of Pioneer germplasm, unlocking genetic po-tential for enhanced agronomics and yield performance. Qrome prod-ucts have excelled in extensive, multi-year on-farm product perfor-mance testing. More than 900 local research trials since 2015 have confirmed Qrome® product performance, delivering on average a 5.5 bu/a advantage over legacy products under a variety of condi-tions and environments in Performance Knowledge Plots (PKP) and IMPACT™ trials. In 2018 on-farm trials alone, Qrome® products held a 10.2 bu/a advantage over all competitive products.
